Iceland took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in the Finnish capital Helsinki with nine male athletes in eleven competitions in one sport.

It was the fourth time an Icelandic team had participated in the Summer Olympics since 1912 .

Flag bearer

Discus thrower Friðrik Guðmundsson carried the flag of Iceland during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .
