Puttelange-aux-Lacs Jewish community
A Jewish community in Puttelange-aux-Lacs in the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine was established by the 18th century at the latest and in 1808 the Jewish community numbered 156 people.
history
The Jewish community of Puttelange built a synagogue as early as 1736 , one of the oldest in the Duchy of Lorraine . The successor building was built in the oriental style in 1867 and destroyed in 1940. The Jewish community had belonged to the Israelite consistorial district of Metz since 1808 .
