Jacky Dreksler

Jacky Dreksler (born March 1, 1946 in Paris ; actually Jacob Joseph Maria Dreksler ) is a German author , musician , songwriter , publisher and producer .

Training and teaching

Jacky Dreksler, son of Fela Dreksler , a concentration camp survivor who died in 1955 (Auschwitz, Ravensbrück), was born in a prison. He grew up as a half- orphan in France, Germany and the USA. After completing an apprenticeship as a chemistry laboratory assistant at Bayer , he studied pedagogy , philosophy and sociology from 1968 and graduated as a qualified pedagogue . From 1972 Dreksler taught these subjects at a high school in Cologne. In 1976 he left school and worked as a sailing instructor and lecturer for the above-mentioned disciplines a. a. at the Bundeswehr University of Applied Sciences and at the University of Bonn. From 1978 he worked as a freelance journalist for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger and comic book author for the Bastei-Verlag (including Biggi ). With his wife Babs Ahland-Dreksler he founded the TV production company "Pacific Productions" in 1988.

music

Dreksler founded a private music school in 1975, which he ran for five years with his partner Mike Eulner. During this time he wrote textbooks for guitar and piano / keyboard and arranged numerous folk, pop and jazz songs for songbooks and music magazines.

As a songwriter, he wrote numerous songs and chansons, including a. for Charles Aznavour , Roland Kaiser , Heino , Costa Cordalis , Die Flippers and Hugo Egon Balder .

On the side he tried unsuccessfully as a singer under the pseudonym Adjah Lion and with the fifties retro group Milkshake - both produced by Jack White .

Radio and industry

The author and songwriter Thomas Woitkewitsch recognized Dreksler's comic talent and paved his way into the media. From 1982 Dreksler worked as a writer, actor and presenter for various radio stations. He wrote and played at SWF3. a. the constant radio comedy -Figur Matthias cereal and moderated broadcasts of Sunday morning show SWF3 flea market and wrote and produced the sketches for it; Dreksler also wrote, spoke, played and produced over 900 skits, gag songs and contributions for broadcasters such as Radio Luxembourg, WDR 2, Radio FFN, Radio 2000, NDR and RIAS.

Dreksler was also an author and consultant for industrial events and trade fair presentations, among others. a. for Agfa, Ford, Grundig and Mercedes and composed jingles for NDR, Radio 2000 and other radio stations.

Television writer

ZDF entertainment director Wolfgang Penk brought Dreksler to television in 1984, where he quickly became one of the busiest authors and presenter coaches in Germany. From 1984 to 1992 he wrote around 650 television programs / articles for over 50 television formats. Among others: Bananas (ARD), Carolin Reibers Volkstümliche Hitparade (ZDF), Dieter Thomas Hecks Your mission please (ZDF), Mike Krüger's four against Willy (ARD), Hugo Egon Balders All nothing right ?! (RTL), Tele-As with Peter Rapp and Carolin Reiber (ZDF) and the ARD request concert with Dagmar Berghoff and Max Schautzer (ARD). Dreksler wrote Sabine Sauer's show window as well as other programs, show series and contributions, etc. a. for Frank Elstner , Freddy Quinn , Harald Juhnke , Heino , Mike Krüger, Michael Schanze , Hans-Jürgen Bäumler , Carlo von Tiedemann , Tony Marshall and Patrick Lindner . He also developed the ZDF sitcom Bistro-Bistro and, together with Hugo Egon Balder, invented the show format Alles keine oder ?! (RTL), which he - with others - also supervised as an author.

Television producer

From 1991 Dreksler produced over 600 television programs with his company Atlantic Media (together with Roland Kaiser ) and from 1995 with Pacific Productions (together with his wife Babs). He invented and produced the Schreinemakers Live (SAT.1) program for two years and more than 150 episodes of RTL Saturday Night for five years together with Hugo Egon Balder . Dreksler discovered Esther Schweins and Markus Maria Profitlich for television and produced its first television show. He produced the series Karls Kneipe (RTL) with Karl Dall , the children's comedy series Alles Klar (Nickelodeon) and around 400 other comedy, game and late night shows for broadcasters such as RTL, SAT1, HR, ZDF and NDR. In 1995 Dreksler also founded the company Feedback (with RTL as a business partner) and with it produced the late-night format RTL Nachtshow , moderated by Thomas Koschwitz .

In 1997 Dreksler withdrew completely into private life, but since 2004 has been working again first as a TV consultant for Die Hit-Giganten (SAT.1), then as Executive Producer for the company Hurricane with the improvisation show Frei Schnauze (RTL), and off 2005 again as a television producer in his company Pacific Productions .

Dreksler tried to build on old successes in 2005 with the RTL Saturday Night remake RTL Comedy Night . However, due to low audience ratings , the show was canceled after nine episodes. In the same year he founded the TV production company Mint Media with Hugo Egon Balder and produced with him the political talk show Talk im Tudio (SAT.1), host Lou Richter , which was renamed The Hot Porridge after the first season ; Moderator Jochen Busse .

From 2003 to 2010 Dreksler was a consultant for 37 programs on the pop music ranking show Die Hit-Giganten (SAT.1), moderator: Hugo Egon Balder.

In 2008 and 2009 he co-produced the fun game shows Peng! With Hugo Egon Balder for SAT.1 . The western show , Holldriöh! The alpine show , Schlotter! The horror show and Aloha! The South Seas Show ; all moderated by Balder.

publisher

In 2007 Dreksler and his wife Babs converted Pacific Productions into an independent publisher . The first publication under the publisher's motto “Fun & Science” was the book against the esoteric law of attraction , written together with Hugo Egon Balder : “Wish bullshit in the universe. A criticism of the wish orders in the universe by Rhonda Byrne (The Secret), Pierre Franckh , Bärbel Mohr , Esther Hicks and Kurt Tepperwein - walking the fine line between no longer satire and not yet science ”.
