Narendra Modi (2015)

The composition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Second Cabinet, formed after India's parliamentary election in 2019 , was announced on May 31, 2019. Some of the ministers from the previous Modi I cabinet remained in office, but often with a new portfolio. There were also many new faces. Important changes were e.g. B. the appointment of Amit Shah as Minister of the Interior, and the diplomat Subrahmanyam Jaishankar as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

When it was first introduced, the cabinet consisted of the Prime Minister, 24 cabinet ministers, 9 ministers of state (state secretaries) with some areas of responsibility and 24 ministers of state. In addition to the Bharatiya Janata Party , four other parties were represented in the cabinet: Shiv Sena , Shiromani Akali Dal , Lok Janshakti Party and the Republican Party of India (Athwale) .
