The canton of Bayon was a French canton in the Arrondissement Lunéville , in the Département Meurthe-et-Moselle and in the Lorraine region until 2015 ; its main town was Bayon . The last representative in the General Council of the Département was Christophe Sonrel (PCF) from 2011 to 2015.
The canton of Bayon was 188.53 km² and in 2006 had 12,752 inhabitants. It was on average 277 meters above sea level, between 207 meters in Damelevières and 406 meters in Haigneville .

history
The canton of Bayon belonged to the Meurthe department in the 19th century . After the Treaty of Frankfurt in 1871 , Bayon remained French and was added to the new canton of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
