The District of La Roche-sur-Foron is a French administrative unit in the department of Haute-Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It comprises 27 municipalities from the arrondissements of Annecy , Bonneville and Saint-Julien-en-Genevois , its main town (French:  bureau centralisateur ) is La Roche-sur-Foron . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of La Roche-sur-Foron included the nine municipalities of Amancy , Arenthon , Cornier , Etaux , La Chapelle-Rambaud , La Roche-sur-Foron , Saint-Laurent , Saint-Pierre- en-Faucigny and Saint-Sixt . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​93.85 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 7417.
