Kenneth Malcolm "Kenny" Wharram (* 2 July 1933 in Ferris , North Bay , Ontario ; † 10. January 2017 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player , the (Center) 1951-1969 for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League played .

Career

During his junior years he played for the Galt Black Hawks in the Ontario Hockey Association . The first attempts to make the leap into the NHL with the Chicago Black Hawks failed, and so he was sent to the American Hockey League in the first few years , where he played for the Buffalo Bisons .

He made his breakthrough in the NHL seven years after his NHL debut in the 1958/59 season . He blossomed in a row with Stan Mikita and Ted Lindsay and was particularly noticeable for his speed. In 1961 he won the Stanley Cup with the Black Hawks . In the 1960s he made it three times among the top ten scorers in the NHL and was voted twice in the First All-Star Team .

In the training camp for the 1969/70 season he felt severe pain in his chest after a training session. In the hospital, myocarditis was diagnosed as the cause of an arrhythmia . It was a few weeks before he could leave the hospital. He was able to continue his life largely without any problems, but a return to the Black Hawks roster was out of the question.
