Place name

Runow or Ruhnow as a place name is often used, as is the place name Runowo in Poland. Klein Runow is the name in contrast to the Groß Runow (Runowo) east of Stolp .

history

There is no information about the origin of Klein Runow. On March 15, 1598 the village was bought by Paul von Below . 1666 Joachim Reinhold von Krockow is also named as a proportional owner alongside Bertram von Below . In 1699 Bertram von Below gave the place to his son-in-law Johann Peter von Puttkamer auf Jeseritz (Jezierzyce), but in 1733 the von Below auf Gatz (Gać) and Reddentin (Redęcin) redeemed the village.

1784 has small Runow a Vorwerk , four farmers, three Kossäten and a schoolmaster. The village remained in the possession of members of various lines of the von Below family until 1945 . In 1874 Oktavio von Below built the new manor house, which no longer exists today, which was then a sight. The last landlord on Klein Runow (with an area of 384 hectares) was Gerd von Below , who died in 1953 in Soviet captivity.

Until 1945 Klein Runow was a village in the district of Schlawe i. Pom. in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania . It belonged to the Reddentin office , the Besow (Bzowo) registry office and the Stolp district court .

On March 8, 1945, the Red Army occupied the place. In the course of 1947 the farms were taken over by Polish families. In 1950 the expulsion of the German population was complete. Today, Klein Runow is part of Gmina Kobylnica under the name Runowo Sławieńskie , but no longer belongs - as the Polish name suggests - to the powiat Sławieński (district of Schlawe), but to the powiat Słupski (district of Stolp) in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (to 1998 Stolp Voivodeship ).

Runowo-Kolonia (Annaburg)

Before 1945, the community of Klein Runow included the village of Annaburg (initially in Polish Mirocin, then Runowo-Kolonia), a settlement with nine farms. In 1706 the place (with parts of Reblin) was acquired by Johann Peter von Puttkamer on Jeseritz.

church

Before 1945, Klein Runow was a village in the Protestant parish Groß Schlönwitz (Słonowice) in the church district of Schlawe in the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Since 1945 Runowo Sławieńskie has been part of the Roman Catholic parish Słonowice in the Sławno deanery in the Köslin-Kolberg diocese of the Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members are now cared for by the parish office of the Kreuzkirche in Słupsk ( Stolp ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

school

The elementary school of Klein Runow, the building of which was built in 1860, was on the road to Annaburg (Runowo-Kolonia) before 1945. The number of students was 35 children. The last German teacher was Karl Ziehlke .
