The Tropoja district ( Albanian  Rrethi i Tropojës ) was one of the 36 administrative districts in Albania that were abolished in the summer of 2015 after an administrative reform. The area of ​​the district with an area of ​​1043 square kilometers in the Kukës district today forms the municipality of Tropoja . The main town was the small town of Bajram Curr .

Tropoja is located in northeast Albania on the border with Kosovo and Montenegro on the eastern edge of the Albanian Alps . The district had around 20,517 inhabitants (2011). The name of the district comes from the small town of Tropoja , the historic center of the region of the same name.
