The 5000 Meters of women in the 2014 European Athletics Championships was on 16 August 2014 in the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich held.
In this competition, the Dutch runners won two medals, silver and bronze. The Swedish Meraf Bahta became the European champion . She won ahead of Sifan Hassan , who had won the 1500 meter race the day before . Bronze went to Susan Kuijken .

doping
The Turkish woman Gamze Bulut - initially in tenth place - was banned for doping until May 29, 2020. The results you have achieved since July 2011 - here anomalies were found in the biological passport - have been canceled. She had also taken part in the 1500 meter run the day before and was eliminated in the preliminary run. This result was also revoked.
