List of Austrian silent films

The list of Austrian silent films is intended to provide a chronological and representative overview of Austrian silent filmmaking (around 1000 short and long feature films as well as hundreds of short documentaries). Austrian films from the sound film era are included in the list of Austrian sound films . Representative films should include both typical and extraordinary Austrian productions for their time. In addition, productions that have won awards at film festivals, are well-attended or have been critically acclaimed. In principle, only films that have been shown in the cinema should be mentioned here. TV or short films should only be mentioned if they have received an award or if they are relevant beyond their time for another reason. For example, particularly elaborate productions or productions that have met with particularly great public or media interest.

Be indicated next to the year , the title , the genre , of / director / in , the producers and / or the production company and in the comments -line any known alternative titles and nominations and awards with film awards, with from about two nominations or awards only the most important should be given. In the production -line and the partner countries are to be given to international co-productions. When sorting, articles (one, the, that), if available, are not used as a lemma .
