The list of protected origin products from Portugal shows the products with protected designation of origin from Portugal , which are marked with the Denominação de Origem Protegida seal (DOP, German: protected designation of origin / PDO) and are registered with the EU .
Wines, baked goods and other well-known specialties from Portugal are not protected as DOP, but as Denominação de Origem Controlada (DOC, German: Protected Geographical Indications / PGI). They are therefore not listed here.
The list contains all 67 Portuguese products that were registered as Protected Designation of Origin with the EU on November 6, 2015.

(1) Three types of cheese were protected under the name Queijos da Beira Baixa : Queijo de Castelo Branco (sheep's cheese), Queijo Amarelo da Beira Baixa (aromatic, made from sheep and goat's milk) and Queijo Picante da Beira Baixa (semi-solid, hot and aromatic, from sheep and / or goat milk). The name Queijo da Beira Baixa refers to the historical region of Beira Baixa , from which the varieties originate.
