Career

societies

Earps was transferred from the City Center of Excellence to Leicester City in 2011 as a competitor to the goalkeeper Leanne Hall . In 2010 she returned to her hometown for Nottingham Forest LFC . In 2011, for the inaugural season of the FA Women's Super League , she received a contract with the Doncaster Belles at the age of 18 . In her first season she was used in seven games, but not without conceding a goal. The following season , she made 13 appearances, but only kept clean in the last game against bottom of the table Liverpool . The Belles finished both seasons in penultimate place.

For the 2013 season she moved to runner-up Birmingham City LFC . There she only made five appearances and only stayed in the games against her previous team without conceding a goal, which was then relegated as bottom of the table. After all, she made her first international appearance with Birmingham in a 5-2 draw in the last 16 of the 2013/14 UEFA Women's Champions League against Russian champions FC Sorki Krasnogorsk .

From 2014 she played for the new runner-up Bristol Academy Here she was not used once in her first season, whereby she did not allow a goal three times. However, Bristol fell to the penultimate place in the table. In 2015 she played in all 14 league games, but only conceded twice without conceding. She could not prevent Bristol from being relegated bottom of the table. With Bristol, however, she made six appearances in the UEFA Women's Champions League 2014/15 , where she did not concede twice, u. a. against FC Barcelona . In the quarter-finals she then conceded twelve goals in two games against the eventual winner 1. FFC Frankfurt .

After relegation from Bristol, she moved to newly promoted Reading FC . Here she stayed in twelve games in 2016 but only in a goalless draw against her former club Birmingham without conceding a goal. Reading was able to stay in the league as penultimate. In the "Spring Series" called short transition season 2017, she was used in all eight games, but only stayed 1-0 against the later bottom of the table Yeovil Town without conceding. In 2017/18 she remained clean in eight out of 15 games and reached fourth place with her team - their best placement in the FA Women's Super League .

For the 2018/19 season she then moved to the German champions VfL Wolfsburg . There she could not prevail against the German national team goalkeeper Almuth Schult . She only came to three missions when Schult had measles . The wolves received their only defeat of the season in these games. In addition, she was used in two cup games against lower-class clubs in the second round and in the round of 16, which were won without a goal. At the end of the season she was able to celebrate the double , even if she had contributed little to it.

For the 2019/20 season she moved to the new English first division club Manchester United . There she became the goalkeeper in the first ten games.

National team

Earps took part in the second qualifying round for the 2011 U-19 European Women's Football Championship in spring 2011 . After two 3-0 wins against Croatia and Portugal, however, they lost 1-0 against Norway and thus missed the final in Italy. A year later, the second qualifying round was survived, but at the finals in Turkey they only remained without conceding a goalless draw against Serbia, the other two games against Sweden and Spain were lost without a goal of their own. The English women were eliminated as third party. This ended her time in the U-19s and from then on she played in the U-23 or "Next Gen" team - mostly in smaller tournaments and friendly matches, as there are no official competitions for this age group.

Against Australia, she played for the first time over 90 minutes in her third international match, but also conceded her first goal with the Lionesses. In the 3-0 win against Austria on November 8, 2018, she was also in the starting line-up, but was replaced after 79 minutes.

In January 2019 she took part in a training camp in Qatar . At the end of February / beginning of March 2019 she was part of the squad that won the SheBelieves Cup for the first time , but was not used. At the end of March she was nominated for two test matches in April.
