Montborget ( Friborg Patois ) is a town and formerly an independent political municipality in the Broye district of the canton of Friborg in Switzerland . On January 1, 1981, Montborget was incorporated into Murist . The village has been part of the Estavayer municipality since 2017 .
geography
Montborget is 650 m above sea level. M. , seven and a half kilometers southwest of the district capital Estavayer-le-Lac ( linear distance ). The village extends in a hollow in the valley of the Bainoz (left side stream of the Petite Glâne ), in the Molasse hill country between Lake Neuchâtel and the middle Broyetal , in the northwestern Freiburg Central Plateau . The former municipality area was around 1.3 km². The area reached from the course of the Bainoz stream northwards over the valley of Montborget to the height of La Frête ( 687 m above sea level ).
population
With around 100 inhabitants (1980), Montborget was one of the small communities in the canton of Friborg before the merger. The hamlet of Fontanalla ( 607 m above sea level ) in the valley of the Bainoz as well as some individual farms belonged to Montborget .
economy
Montborget still lives from agriculture , especially from agriculture and dairy farming . Thus, the waters of the Bainoz are strong with pesticides loaded.
traffic
The village is located away from the larger thoroughfares, the main access is from Estavayer-le-Lac through the Bainoztal. Montborget has no connection to the public transport network.
history
The first written mention of the place took place in 1314 under the name Mauborget . Since the Middle Ages , Montborget has belonged to the La Molière domain. After Bern had conquered Vaud in 1536, the village came under the rule of Friborg and was assigned to the Bailiwick of Font . After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798), Montborget was part of the Estavayer district during the Helvetic and subsequent periods before being incorporated into the Broye district in 1848. With effect from January 1, 1981, Montborget was incorporated into Murist .
