Municipalities of the canton of Friborg
The canton of Friborg comprises 133 political communities (as of January 2020). The main town is Freiburg (Friborg). District capitals are highlighted in bold.

The land area of the municipalities in the canton of Friborg is 1,590.71 km². In addition, there is the Galm state forest with 2.57 km² (total 1,593.28 km²) and the lake area share of 78.14 km² (Lac de la Gruyère / Gruyère Lake 8.56 km², Lac de Neuchâtel / Neuchâtel lake 55.19 km², Lake Murten 14.39 km²). Thus the total area of the canton of Friborg is 1671.42 km².
