Until December 31, 2016, Bussy was a municipality in the Broye district of the canton of Friborg in Switzerland . On January 1, 2017, Bussy merged with the former municipalities of Estavayer-le-Lac , Morens , Murist , Rueyres-les-Prés , Vernay and Vuissens to form the new municipality of Estavayer .
geography
Bussy is a small village within the Estavayer-le-Lac exclave. Four Freiburg municipalities ( Morens , Vernay , Sévaz and Cugy ) and one Vaudois municipality ( Payerne ) border the municipality. In recent years, the area has been changed significantly with the construction of the A1 motorway.

population
With a few exceptions, the entire population speaks French and the majority (more than 85%) are Roman Catholic.

Employment is split between agriculture and the service sector. The industry, apart from 2 small companies, is practically non-existent.
history
During the Middle Ages, Bussy belonged to the territory of the Lords of Estavayer. It was elevated to an independent municipality in 1809.
