Val-de-Charmey is the name of a by a municipality combination of Cerniat and Charmey incurred municipality in the canton of Friborg in Switzerland . Val-de-Charmey received the new FSO no. 2163.

Neighboring municipalities are: Bas-Intyamon , Botterens , Broc , Châtel-sur-Montsalvens , Corbières , Crésuz , Grandvillard , Gruyère , Hauteville , Jaun , La Roche , Plaffeien and Plasselb in the canton of Friborg and Château-d'Oex , Rougemont in the canton of Vaud and Saanen in the canton of Bern .
history
The four municipalities of Cerniat, Charmey, Châtel-sur-Montsalvens and Crésuz were originally intended as merger partners . However, this merger was rejected by the population. The merger project was subsequently limited to the municipalities of Cerniat and Charmey and was accepted with over 60 percent of the votes in the local votes and was implemented on January 1, 2014.
Since 2012, the community has been part of the Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut .
