Guadalupe y Calvo is a municipality with around 53,500 inhabitants in the Mexican state of Chihuahua . The municipality has an area of 9649.9 km². The administrative seat and largest town in the municipality is Guadalupe y Calvo of the same name .
Guadalupe y Calvo is named after the Virgin of Guadalupe and José Joaquín Calvo , a former governor of Chihuahua.

The municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo is located in the extreme south of the state of Chihuahua at an altitude between 200 m and 3300 m . It belongs entirely to the physiographic province of the Sierra Madre Occidental and is located in the hydrological region of Sinaloa and drains into the Pacific . The geology of the municipality is determined to 87% by rhyolite tuff with 5% andesite - breccia ; The predominant soil types in the municipality are Leptosol (35%), Regosol (25%), Luvisol (15%), Phaeozem (12%) and Cambisol (10%). About 89% of the municipality is forested, 7% is used for arable farming, 4% is used as pasture land.
The municipality borders on the Municipios Balleza , Morelos and Guachochi as well as the states of Sinaloa and Durango .
