NGC 1026 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 188 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light-years across.
The object was discovered on December 24, 1864 by the astronomer Albert Marth .
