NGC 4690 is a 12.9 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type e-S0 in the constellation of Virgo , which is about 120 million light-years from the Milky Way's center.
It was discovered on April 11, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflecting telescope, who described it as "vF, S".
