NGC 4710 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a and is located in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 48 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy IC 3806 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 21, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
