NGC 4722 = IC 3833 is a 12.8 mag bright lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type "S0-a" in the constellation Raven and about 189 million light years away from the Milky Way. She was spotted twice; in 1882 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel , who noted "Following [GC] 3244 [NGC 4714] are two more small class III nebulae which I have sketched, but have still not been able to measure" (discovery listed as NGC 4722) and on April 15, 1895 by Guillaume Bigourdan (listed as IC 3833).
