NGC 4718 is a 13.4 likes bright barred spiral galaxy of Hubble type SBb in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is an estimated 206 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 4678 , NGC 4697 , NGC 4705 , IC 825 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on February 19, 1830 .
