NGC 6168 is an approximately 14.1 mag bright spiral galaxy in the constellation Hercules. It is just under 118 million light years from the Milky Way and was discovered as a foggy object by Lewis A. Swift on May 21, 1884 . The galaxy NGC 6181 is located in the same area of the sky .
