NGC 6193 is a galactic open star cluster of the Trumpler type II3P in the constellation Ara in the southern sky . It has a diameter of 14 ′ and an apparent magnitude of 5.2 mag. The cluster is about 4,000 light years from the solar system and about 14 light years in diameter . Its age is estimated to be 10 million years.
The object was discovered on May 14, 1826 by James Dunlop .
