NSWRL 1946

The NSWRL 1946 was the 39th season of the New South Wales Rugby League Premiership , the first Australian rugby league championship. The first place in the table after the end of the regular seasons occupied the St. George Dragons . They lost in the final 12:13 against the Balmain Tigers , who won the NSWRL for the ninth time.

    Playoffs

    In fact, Balmain would have won the NSWRL after beating Canterbury. Since St. George had the so-called "Right of Challenge" as the winner of the Minor Premiership, the Grand Final between Newtown and North Sydney took place a week later.
