NSWRL 1956

The 1956 NSWRL was the 49th season of the New South Wales Rugby League Premiership , the first Australian rugby league championship. The first place in the table after the end of the regular season occupied the St. George Dragons . They won the final 18:12 against the Balmain Tigers and won the NSWRL for the third time. The title was supposed to mark the beginning of an era of victory that lasted for the next ten seasons and remains an unbroken world record in rugby to this day.
