NSWRL 1989
The 1989 NSWRL was the 82nd season of the New South Wales Rugby League Premiership , the first Australian rugby league championship. The first place in the table after the end of the regular season occupied the South Sydney Rabbitohs . They lost in the semifinals 16:32 to the Canberra Raiders , who won 19:14 in the final against the Balmain Tigers . The Raiders won the NSWRL for the first time and were also the first NSWRL master who did not come from New South Wales .
