The OMR Festival , until 2017 Online Marketing Rockstars Festival (OMR), is an event for digital marketing and technology. The OMR Festival has been taking place in Hamburg since it was founded in 2011 . The organizer is Ramp 106 GmbH. The founding team includes Philipp Westermeyer, Tobias Schlottke, Christian Müller and Christian Byza.

Areas

The OMR Festival is divided into the two areas Expo and Conference.

OMR Expo

The OMR Expo is a two-day trade fair that in 2018 attracted over 300 national and international exhibitors from the fields of adtech, affiliate marketing , analytics, marketing attribution , consulting , content marketing , data, display marketing, e-commerce , e-mail marketing , Gaming, HR , IT , influencer marketing , marketing Cloud, Mobile Advertising , native advertising , performance marketing , Programmatic Advertising publishers , search engine marketing , social media marketing , software and video advertising included. Attached to the Expo is a program consisting of stages that are played with live lectures. Masterclasses are also offered, which are 90-minute intensive seminars on specific topics in online marketing. The OMR Expo also includes a trade fair party at which Bausa , Olli Schulz , Fünf Sterne Deluxe and Oli.P have already performed. In 2018, the OMR Expo had more than 40,000 trade visitors.

OMR conference

The OMR Conference is a one-day specialist conference on digital marketing that takes place on the second day of the OMR Festival. International marketing experts are also on the stage. In the past, u. a. VaynerMedia founder Gary Vaynerchuk , Pinterest founder Evan Sharp , Youtuber Casey Neistat , BuzzFeed founder Jonah Peretti, Metallica founder Lars Ulrich , NYU professor Scott Galloway and skateboarder Tony Hawk lectures on various marketing topics. In addition to musical surprise guests (for example Marteria and Udo Lindenberg ), the OMR conference includes an aftershow party, at which beginners and Deichkind have already played. In 2018, 7,500 visitors took part in the OMR conference.

As a B2B trade fair, the OMR Festival is primarily aimed at managing directors and marketing managers of all company sizes who want to find out more about the possibilities and solutions of digital marketing and exchange ideas.

history

2011

The first Online Marketing Rockstars Conference was held on February 11, 2011 at the Bucerius Law School . Around 200 guests attended the premiere of the digital conference. On the stage stood u. a. Idealo founder Martin Sinner and ElitePartner founder Arne Kahlke .

2012

The second Online Marketing Rockstars Conference with 600 participants took place on February 24, 2012 at Große Freiheit 36 . Keynotes were u. a. given by Daniel Schiemann, former marketing service provider for YouPorn , Hamburg Media School Sabine Trepte , Florian Heinemann (formerly Rocket Internet ) and SEO expert Marcus Tandler.

2013

Online Marketing Rockstars Conference 2013 in the Große Freiheit 36

The third Online Marketing Rockstars Conference was held on February 22nd at Große Freiheit 36 . Almost 1,200 trade visitors took part. I.a. Youtuber Sami Slimani , Obama advisor Julius van de Laar, musician Jan Delay , Mister Spex managing director Mirko Caspar and Harvard Professor Jeffrey Rayport gave lectures on the latest developments in digital marketing.

2014

2014 Online Marketing rock stars took conference on February 21 in the Stage - Theater at the port instead. With 2,000 visitors, the conference was sold out. The program consisted of twenty speakers, including a. said BuzzFeed founder Jonah Peretti for the first time on a German stage. Other guests and speakers were Harvard Business School Professor Ben Edelman, the hip-hop trio from Fettes Brot , poetry slamer Julia Engelmann , Selfmade Records founder Elvir Ombergovic and John Battelle , founder of Wired magazine .

2015

From February 26 to 28, 2015, the OMR Expo was held for the first time with 50 exhibitors in addition to the OMR Conference. The OMR conference took place on two days in the Theater im Hafen , the Expo on one day in the St. Pauli Millerntor Stadium . The conference and expo together counted around 2,500 trade visitors. On the stage stood u. a. the then Hamburg mayor Olaf Scholz , digital marketing expert Gary Vaynerchuk , Pinterest founder Evan Sharp , Thales Teixeira, professor of business administration at Harvard School , the Hamburg rapper Das Bo , Benjamin Bak, founder of Lovoo , influencer Liz Eswein and the band Deichkind .

2016

On February 25 and 26, 2016, the OMR Festival took place for the first time in two halls of the Hamburg exhibition halls . 16,533 trade visitors attended the expo and conference. In front of the 4,900 conference participants, a. Marketing professor Scott Galloway, skateboard legend Tony Hawk , "My Little Paris" founder Fany Péchiodat, Ströer -COO Christian Schmalzl, growth hacking expert Neil Patel and musicians Jan Delay and Udo Lindenberg .

2017

The OMR Festival 2017 took place on March 2nd and 3rd, 2017 in three halls of the Hamburg exhibition halls . The seventh edition of the congress fair recorded more than 200 national and international exhibitors and around 26,000 visitors. As guests and speakers were u. a. the then Federal Minister of Economics Brigitte Zypries ( SPD ), entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk (VaynerMedia), Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson , Youtuber Casey Neistat , the Hamburg rapper Beginner , Trivago founder Rolf Schrömgens, Die Fantastischen Vier and Facebook developer Andrew Bosworth on site.

The appearance of Alexander Nix , CEO of Cambridge Analytica , who was held responsible for one of the biggest data scandals to date (mostly referred to in the media as the "Facebook scandal") a year later, caused a stir . This led u. a. on the fact that Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg spoke before the US Senate and the EU Parliament on the allegations and the company adjusted its data protection regulations.

2018

The OMR Festival 2018 took place on March 22nd and 23rd in five halls (65,000 square meters) of the Hamburg exhibition halls . 40,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors from Germany and abroad took part. Over 300 speakers appeared in 120 masterclasses, on two Expo stages and the conference. I.a. stood Andrus Ansip , Vice-President of the European Commission , Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso , Lars Ulrich , drummer of the band Metallica , fitness influencer Kayla Itsines , En Marche campaign director Guillaume Liegey, business journalist Tim Urban ( Wait But Why ), Scott Galloway , L2- Founder and professor at NYU Stern School of Business, Zalando founder Robert Gentz, Mathias Döpfner , CEO of Axel Springer SE , the influencer twins Lisa and Lena , statistics expert Nate Silver , investor Frank Thelen , the band Deichkind , presenter Lena Gerke , Douglas CEO Tina Müller , fashion designer Magnus Walker , influencer Bianca Heinicke , mymuesli co-founder Hubertus Bessau and rappers Bausa and Marteria on one of the stages.

2019

The OMR Festival took place for the first time in May (May 7/8) in 2019. The organizer justified the move with overlapping public holidays and a lack of capacities in February / March at Hamburg Messe. The expo and conference recorded a total of 52,000 visitors, over 600 speakers and 400 exhibitors.

On four stages, u. a. Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari , singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding , entrepreneur Bozoma Saint John , founder of the Headspace app Andy Puddicombe, Federal Justice Minister Katarina Barley , JD.com Vice President Bowen Zhou, darts legend Phil Taylor , presenter Joko Winterscheidt , Juso Federal chairman Kevin Kühnert , Runtastic co-founder Florian Gschwandtner , CDU general secretary Paul Ziemiak , the YouTubers Fynn Kliemann , Dagi Bee and Die Lochis as well as the entrepreneur Verena Bahlsen , who was later criticized in the media for making a statement about capitalism in her speech.

As part of the parties on both evenings, u. a. Scooter and the rappers Dendemann , Trettmann , Casper and Marteria .
