The 67th Rally Sweden was held from 14 to 17 February 2019 was the second of 13 FIA - World Cup races 2019 .

On the first day of the race, the two Finns Teemu Suninen (Ford) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) were still at the top of the Rally Sweden. In difficult snow conditions with a thaw, hardly a driver came through the special stages without a slip or spin. Latvala drove into a snow wall and Suninen also made a driving mistake. From then on the way was clear for Ott Tänak , who won three special stages on Saturday afternoon and skillfully managed his lead in the final three special stages on Sunday.

The fight for the other podium places was more exciting. With Esapekka Lappi (Citroën), Thierry Neuville , Andreas Mikkelsen (both Hyundai) and Elfyn Evans (Ford), four drivers fought for second and third place. With a strong performance on the final day, Lappi secured the first podium with second place on his second start for Citroën, despite a spin on Friday that almost overturned him.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) landed on Friday in the sixth special stage in a snow wall and thus lost all chances of a top result. On this race weekend, Ogier only won two world championship points at the Powerstage in fourth.
