Local history

In 1828 Rischden had a total of 82 inhabitants, in 1852 there were 116 inhabitants. In the course of the regional reform on January 1, 1972, the places Tripsrath, Hochheid and Rischden remained with the city of Geilenkirchen.
The places Tripsrath, Hochheid and Rischden form a three-village community. Their common meeting point is the community center , the former Old School . Under the motto: Community center strengthens the community , the house was opened in September 2011.
Church history
The parish of St. Anna Tripsrath is made up of the villages of Tripsrath with Brüggerhof, Hochheid, Rischden and Königshof. The majority of the population consists of Catholics .
The parish of St. Anna in Tripsrath was created by the parish of Tripsrath with Königshof, Hochheid and Rischden from the parish of St. Marien in Geilenkirchen. This was made possible by promises of donations by 80 people to finance a rectorate as well as the donation of land for the construction of the parish church by Miss Adele Wilhelmine Cockerill, which envisaged the elevation to parish church as a condition.
In 1869 the church council decided to found its own rectorate, and in 1870 a barn was set up in Tripsrath as an emergency church . On January 9, 1891 Tripsrath was raised to parish. On August 8, 1873, Auxiliary Bishop Baudri laid the foundation stone for the church . The inauguration was on May 30, 1893. In the war year 1944/45 the church was badly damaged, in 1953 the reconstruction was completed.
In the course of the parish reforms in the Diocese of Aachen , the formerly independent Catholic parish of St. Anna Tripsrath was incorporated into the Community of Parishes (GdG) St. Bonifatius Geilenkirchen .
