Immendorf is a district of the Mittelstadt Geilenkirchen in the district of Heinsberg in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Immendorf is located southeast of Geilenkirchen on federal road 56 and district road 24 .

Waters

In the center of Immendorf begins the Immendorfer Fließ (GEWKZ 2828892), which drains rainwater in the direction of the Wurm . The flow km with a length of 5,325 flows from Immendorf from the northeast to the village Prummern over and opens between Beeck and Leiffarth in the Beeck flow .

Local history

In 1296 Dietrich II von Heinsberg acquired the Immendorf house and gave it back to the brothers Dietrich and Johann vom Immendorf as a fief . In 1438 the estate came to Ahrweiler through an inheritance from Gerhard von Blanckart . Heinrich von Mirbach to Ticheln bought the estate in 1458. Through a legacy reaches the estate in 1702 to Gotthard Adolf von Mirbach to Harf. In the 18th century, the castle was replaced by a simple farm. The two-storey house with a mansard roof bears the date 1789 in the iron anchor .

Elsewhere, north of the church, there was a large, rectangular farm from the 17th and 18th centuries, which was called the Pützhof . At the church as a two-storey house from the 17th century with curved and stepped gables and block frieze . A simple barn at the back. Immendorf was an independent municipality with a mayor's office and had 384 inhabitants in 1828 and 446 in 1852. In 1934 the offices of Immendorf and Würm were merged. Church history

The first explicit mention of the church in Immendorp can be found in 1308 in Liber valoris , the book of values ​​of the churches of the Diocese of Cologne . Tower and choir date from around 1400. The nave from around 1500. The three-aisled, late Gothic hall church was partially destroyed in the Second World War. During the reconstruction in 1955/56, the remaining parts of the building were included in the new building . A modern church was built with modern glazing and a free-standing tower .
