Rohov (Hungarian : Rohó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 373 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Senica , a district of Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the middle of the Chvojnická pahorkatina hills by the Pasecký potok brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 239 m nm and is seven and a half kilometers from Senica .
Neighboring municipalities are Častkov in the north, Rovensko in the east, Rybky in the south and west and Oreské in the northwest.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1471 as Rohov and at that time it belonged to the estate of Branč Castle . From 1569 to the abolition of serfdom in 1848, Rohov was owned by the families (successively) Amade , Gvadányi , Héderváry , Nyáry , Zichy , Esterházy and Erdődy . In 1787 there were 60 houses and 333 inhabitants. Originally the main source of income for the population was viticulture, today the community is almost exclusively agricultural.
The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia. In 1924 a major fire put part of Rohov in ashes.
From 1960 to 1990 Rohov was part of the Rohovské Rybky municipality together with the neighboring village of Rybky.

According to the 2011 census, 400 inhabitants lived in Rohov, including 382 Slovaks, 5 Roma and 1 Russian and 1 Czech. 11 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity. 276 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church, 8 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and 1 inhabitant to the Bahaitum. 84 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 31 inhabitants was not determined.

traffic
A 3rd order road runs through Rohov, which leads south to Rybky and northeast towards Sobotište . About one kilometer from the village, it ends at the intersection with 1st-order road 51 and 2nd-order road 581.
The nearest train station is in Senica, nine kilometers away on the Trnava – Kúty railway line .
