Ryan Pulock (born October 6, 1994 in Dauphin , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League since September 2013 and has played for them since 2016 in the position of defender .
Career
Pulock spent his junior years with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League between 2010 and 2014 . During this period he played 285 games for the team and achieved 225 points scorer . Twice he was elected to the East First All-Star Team of the league and selected in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in 15th position by the New York Islanders from the National Hockey League . They finally signed him in September 2013, but left him in the junior division until mid-April 2014.
After finishing his junior career, the defender came to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League for the remainder of the 2013-14 season . These acted as the Islanders' farm team . He also spent the 2014/15 season in the AHL. At the end of the season, Pulock was elected to the AHL All-Rookie Team . During the 2015/16 season , the defender found himself in New York's NHL squad for the first time and completed 21 games there, including the play-offs . Mainly he was in the Bridgeports squad this and the following year .
International
For his home country Pulock played at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2011 and the U18 Junior World Championship 2012 in the Czech Republic . While he finished sixth with the team at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge, he won the bronze medal at the U18 Junior World Championship. He contributed a goal and an assist in six tournament appearances.
Pulock made his debut for the senior national team at the 2018 World Cup , where he finished fourth with the team.
