The federal highway 13 runs immediately west of the village and leads to a junction of the federal highway 470 (2 km southeast) or to Uffenheim (10.5 km northwest). A community road leads to Illesheim to the district road NEA 39 (2.5 km east).

history

Schwebheim was first mentioned in a document in 992 as "Suebheim", which means something like "Swabian grove". The content of the document suggests that there was already a church in the village at that time, which was a branch of Burgbernheim. The place also had a castle with a local knight family. However, numerous foreign lords also acquired claims in the village. In 1288 Heilsbronn Monastery received a farm from the knight Ulrich Hübschmann. In 1303/06 there were further acquisitions of the monastery. Shortly before the Reformation, St. Laurentius was elevated to a parish church. As a result of the Peasants' War , the castle was destroyed and the local noble family died out.

At the end of the 18th century there were 40 properties in Schwebheim. The imperial city of Windsheim exercised the high court . If necessary, this had to be delivered to the Brandenburg-Bayreuth mayor's office in Burgbernheim . The imperial city of Windsheim and the mayor's office in Burgbernheim held alternate rulership of the village and community . The landlords were the imperial city of Windsheim (32 properties, including 3 courtyards, 1 mill, 16 forage properties, 4 residential properties, 1 small house), the mayor's office in Burgbernheim (rectory, church, tavern, 2 estates, 3 houses), the Oberamt Uffenheim (1 courtyard) and the manor Illesheim (1 residential property).

In 1810 Schwebheim came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict in 1811 that was tax district Schwebheim made to the places Aisch- , iron and Gackenmühle , Illesheim and Ottenhofen belonged. In 1817 the rural community Schwebheim was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818) three rural communities were formed:

  • Rural community of Illesheim with Aisch, Eisen and Gackenmühle;
  • Rural community Ottenhofen;
  • Rural community Schwebheim.

The administrative and jurisdiction of the rural community Schwebheim was subordinate to the District Court of Windsheim and the financial administration to the Ipsheim Rent Office . However, until 1848 the Patrimonial Court of Illesheim held voluntary jurisdiction over a property . From 1862 Schwebheim was administered by the Uffenheim District Office (renamed the Uffenheim District in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Windsheim Rent Office ( renamed Windsheim Tax Office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Windsheim until 1879, from 1880 District Court of Windsheim . The municipality had an area of 5.718 km².

On July 1, 1972 Schwebheim was incorporated into the course of the regional reform in Bavaria Buchheim , which was incorporated into the city of Burgbernheim on May 1, 1978.
