Sharice Davids

Sharice Davids (born May 22, 1980 in Frankfurt am Main ) is an American lawyer and politician of the Democratic Party . Since January 3, 2019, she has been a member of the US House of Representatives for the 3rd congressional electoral district of the US state of Kansas .

Life

Davids is a member of the Winnebago Indian people . Davids attended Leavenworth High School and Johnson County Community College. She studied law at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and Cornell Law School . She practices as a lawyer in Kansas. On November 6, 2018, she became a member of the United States House of Representatives. Davids and Deb Haaland are the first two women Indigenous MPs to be elected to the United States House of Representatives.
