Rollin R. Rees

Rollin Raymond Rees (born January 10, 1865 in Camden , Preble County , Ohio , † May 30, 1935 in Anaheim , California ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ).

Rees moved to Ottawa County , Kansas with his parents in 1867 . He attended the Agricultural College in Manhattan (Kansas) until 1885 and studied law . In 1887 he was accepted into the bar and practiced in Minneapolis, Kansas. From 1895 to 1899 Rees was a district attorney in Ottawa County. He was then from 1899 to 1903 a member of the House of Representatives of Kansas and from 1903 to 1910 judge in the 13th judicial district.

In 1910, Rees resigned from his post as a judge to run for the 62nd Congress . After his successful election he represented the state of Kansas in the US House of Representatives from March 4, 1911 to March 3, 1913 . In the 1912 elections to the 63rd Congress, he was unable to defend his seat. Rees began practicing law in Minneapolis again. He later moved to California and worked in banking and ranching. He died in Anaheim on May 30, 1935 and was buried in Fairhaven Cemetery in Orange .
