Roger Marshall (born August 9, 1960 in El Dorado , Butler County , Kansas ) is an American politician and doctor. Since January 3, 2017, he has represented the state of Kansas in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1980, Roger Marshall graduated from Butler County Community College . He then studied medicine at the University of Kansas . This was followed by a degree in biology at Kansas State University . Between 1984 and 1991 he was a captain in the United States Army reserves . He then became a specialist gynecologist at Great Bend Regional Hospital . Since 2000 he has also been President of Quivera Ranch, Limited Liability Company and a board member of Bank Farmers Bank & Trust . He was also a district director for Rotary International .

Politically, Marshall joined the Republican Party . In the congressional elections of 2016 he became the first constituency of Kansas against the independent candidate Alan LaPolice in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he succeeds on January 3, 2017 Tim Huelskamp took he his in the primaries Party had surprisingly beaten.

In early September 2019, he announced that he would run in the Republican primary for the 2020 Senate election in Kansas.
