Sirið Stenberg
Sirið Stenberg (born May 26, 1968 in Vágur ) is a Faroese nurse and politician of the left-wing Republican party Tjóðveldi . She has been the Minister for Health and Home Affairs in her country since September 2015.
education and profession
Sirið Stenberg completed his training as a nurse at Bispebjerg Hospital in Bispebjerg in 1994 . In 1998 an additional qualification as a nurse in neonatology followed in Hvidovre and in 2001 as a health nurse (heilsufrøðingur) in Aarhus . Since then she has worked as a nurse or health nurse on her home island Suðuroy . From 2006 to 2008 she was also director of the Faroese health school Heilsuskúli Føroya in Porkeri on Suðuroy.

In 2009 Sirið Stenberg was elected to the local council of her home parish Vágur (Vágs kommuna).
At the end of October 2011 she was elected for the first time as a member of parliament for Tjóðveldi in Løgting with 319 personal votes . She was then a member of several committees.
In September 2015 she came back to parliament with 755 personal votes. This was the second best result within your party. Only Høgni Hoydal was able to gain more votes.
Sirið Stenberg joined the state government of Aksel V. Johannesen as Minister of Health in mid-September 2015 . A few days later she was also given the responsibility for internal affairs. She is also deputy chairman of her party.
family
Sirið Stenberg is the daughter of Ásgerð and Flemming Stenberg. She is married to football coach Jón Pauli Olsen . The couple have three children and live in Vágur .

1 Annika Olsen was originally elected for Fólkaflokkurin, but left the party shortly after the election and applied for leave of absence on September 20, 2015. Joen Magnus Rasmussen was her representative for one month in October 2015. Annika Olsen was an independent MP until the beginning of February 2016. Since then she has been a member of the Fólkaflokkurin again.
