Páll á Reynatúgvu (born July 26, 1967 in Tórshavn ) is a Faroese physiotherapist , politician of the left-wing Republican Tjóðveldi and a former Faroese football player. In the past, he sat for many years as a member of parliament in the Faroese town of Løgting , was Minister of Social Affairs in the Faroese state government and mayor of his home town of Sandur. He has been chairman of Løgting since mid-September 2015 .

Páll á Reynatúgvu is the son of Niels and Ada á Reynatúgvu. He grew up in Sandur .

Soccer

From 1984 to 2004 he was an active soccer player and played exclusively for his hometown club B71 Sandur . In 2011 he was again elected to the Løgting and in 2015 he was also re-elected. He has been a member of several parliamentary committees there in the past. He was also mayor of his hometown Sandur from 2001 to 2002 and from 2003 to 2009.

On September 15, 2015, he was unanimously elected as the new President of Parliament (Løgtingsformaður).
