Ingolf S. Olsen
Ingolf S. Olsen (born June 8, 1963 ) is a Faroese journalist , trade unionist and politician of the socialist party Tjóðveldi , which seeks the independence of the Faroe Islands.
Life
Ingolf S. Olsen graduated from the Danish School of Journalism (Danmarks Journalisthøjskole) in Aarhus in 1994 and then worked for many years as a journalist for Danish newspapers. He then went back to the Faroe Islands, where he initially worked for two years for the daily newspaper Dimmalætting in Tórshavn , before continuing in various areas from 2004 to 2010 at the public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya .
He has been working as a freelance journalist since 2010 and also works in the secretariat of the Faroese Fishermen's Association (Føroya Fiskimannafelag) . He has also been on the board of the Faroese media workers' association (Føroysk Miðlafólk) for several years . He is also a member of the Faroese Media Control Committee (Fjølmiðlanevndin) .
Ingolf S. Olsen ran as a member of parliament for Tjóðveldi in the Løgtings election in 2015 , but did not make the direct leap into parliament. On September 21, 2015, he finally got to Løgting as a representative with voting rights via the list of successors , when he took over the headquarters of Magni Arge . He had previously decided to suspend the Løgtingsmandate in favor of his seat in the Danish Folketing .
In October 2016 it was announced that Ingolf. S Olsen has to vacate his chair after a year in Løgting because Magni Arge decided to give up his Folketing seat and leave it to Tórbjørn Jacobsen , Mayor of Runavík . After a year in the Folketing, Magni Arge intends to resume its seat as a member of parliament in Løgting, Faroese.

Ingolf S. Olsen is the son of Marna and Svenning Olsen. He is married to Elsa Margith Davidsen. The couple have two children and live in Sørvágur .

1 Annika Olsen was originally elected for Fólkaflokkurin, but left the party shortly after the election and applied for leave of absence on September 20, 2015. Joen Magnus Rasmussen was her representative for one month in October 2015. Annika Olsen was an independent MP until the beginning of February 2016. Since then she has been a member of the Fólkaflokkurin again.
