Óluva Klettskard

Óluva Elin Klettskarð (born June 24, 1965 in Klaksvík ) is a Faroese teacher and politician of the independence striving, socialist party Tjóðveldi .

Life

She studied at the University of the Faroe Islands and 1991 History ( Exam. Art ) and by 1996 Faroese Language and Literature ( Exam. Art ). In 2000 she graduated from Aarhus University with the Danish Candidate Examination as cand. Mag. from.

Since 1996 she has been teaching history and Faroese at high schools in Hoydalar ( Føroya Studentaskúli ), on Eysturoy and in Klaksvík.

politics

Óluva Klettskarð is a member of the local council in Klaksvík. Furthermore, she sat from 2008 to 2011 as a replacement for Tjóðveldi in the Faroese Parliament ( Løgting ). In addition, at the end of August 2008 she became Minister of Culture for a short time in the state government of Jóannes Eidesgaard II . In the Løgting election on September 1, 2015 , Óluva Klettskarð ran for Tjóðveldi and received 333 personal votes, but did not make the leap into Løgting. Via the list of successors, she then reached the Faroese parliament as a voting representative for Sirið Stenberg , who moved to the state government. There she is also a member of the culture committee, the welfare committee and the government control committee.

Óluva Klettskarð is the daughter of Edith and Páll Klettskarð and comes from Haraldsund . She is married to Andras Sólstein and has two children, including soccer player Páll Klettskarð . The family lives in Klaksvík.
