The Steimbker Kuhlen are a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon municipality of Steimbke in the joint municipality of Steimbke in the Nienburg / Weser district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 073 is 165  hectares in size. It is north of Steimbke on the edge of the light Moores , which is still a large area abgetorft is. In the northeast it borders directly on the nature reserve " Rodewalder Lichtenheide ", in the southeast the nature reserve " Rodewalder Wiehbuschwiesen " adjoins.

The area is a high moor area under protection. The adjacent heather and grassland areas are included in the nature reserve . Some arable land can also be found in the southeast of the area . Part of the agricultural land in the nature reserve is to be withdrawn from use.

The nature reserve drains through ditches towards the Alpe , a tributary of the Aller .

The area has been a nature reserve since June 28, 1984. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Nienburg / Weser.
