The Siedener Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Borstel and Maasen in the district of Diepholz and the municipality of Steyerberg in the district of Nienburg .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 112 is 825 hectares . Of this, 658.2 hectares are in the Diepholz district and 166.8 hectares in the Nienburg district. The area has been a nature reserve since October 9, 1986. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Diepholz and Nienburg.
The nature reserve is located southeast of Sulingen in the Diepholzer Moorniederung . It provides a high moor area under protection in its northern area adjacent to regenerating Handtorfstichen are not to be found abgetorfte high moorland. The southern area consists of an industrially softened raised bog area that is being renatured by rewetting . In the edge areas of the nature reserve there are grassland and forest areas, but initially also areas used for arable farming. The arable land should be converted into grassland or fallow land after the area has been placed under protection.
The moorland is drained via trenches and Siede or Allerbeeke to the Great Aue , which flows south of Nienburg into the Weser . In the middle of the nature reserve, to the east of the Siede, the nature reserve " Borsteler Moor " joins.
