Huntebruch and Huntebruchwiesen is the name of a nature reserve in the municipality of Lembruch and the city of Diepholz in the district of Diepholz .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 204 is 260  hectares . It is partly part of the FFH area “Dümmer” and is completely in the EU bird sanctuary “Dümmer”.

The nature reserve is located north of the Dümmers in the Dümmerniederung. It borders on the " Westliche Dümmerniederung " nature reserve in the west and on the " Dümmer " nature reserve in the south . Together with these as well as the “ Ochsenmoor ” nature reserve in the south of the Dümmer and the “ Hohe Sieben ” nature reserve on the east bank of the Dümmer, most of the lowland is protected by nature conservation law.

The nature reserve places the course of the river Hunte as well as part of the eastern banks and the adjacent grassland , mainly wet grassland and fen areas , under protection. Most of the grassland is used extensively for mowing and pasture .

In the northern part of the protected area is the forest area "Huntebruch", which has not been cultivated for decades. The forest area, which is characterized by alder - ash stocks and alder quarry forest , was designated as a natural forest reserve in 1976 . It formed the nature reserve "Huntebruch" with the registration number NSG HA 039. The nature reserve was fully integrated into the newly designated nature reserve "Huntebruch and Huntebruchwiesen" on November 15, 2007.

In the south of the protected area is the Dümmer lookout tower north, one of four lookout towers along the 18 km long dike around the Dümmer.

The area has been under nature protection since November 15, 2007, with the Huntebruch already being placed under nature protection on May 20, 1976. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Diepholz.
