The Lemker Marsch is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon community of Marklohe in the Samtgemeinde Marklohe and the city of Nienburg / Weser in the Nienburg / Weser district .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 151 is 172 hectares . It is bordered to the north, east and south to the conservation area "Wesermarsch". The area has been a nature reserve since September 19, 1991. It is looked after by the Nienburger Kreisverband des Naturschutzbund Germany . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Nienburg / Weser.
The nature reserve is located between Nienburg and Marklohe in the lowland area of the Weser and extends to the Geestrand near Marklohe. It protects a grassland complex divided by numerous hedges . The hedges represent an important retreat for numerous animals and plants. The grassland, which is largely used for agriculture, is partly characterized by flood hollows. It is regularly flooded and thus represents an important retreat for animals and plants bound to temporary bodies of water and temporarily moist grassland.
To the north and west, the nature reserve borders on the Rahden – Nienburg railway line , which is only used by freight trains, and which also crosses the protected area for the Weser crossing; in the south it borders on federal highways 6 and 214, which run together here .
