The 156.0 hectare nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 042 is located west of and directly on the L 370 , 4 km north of Rehburg-Loccum . Together with the Rehburger Moor II nature reserve (license plate number NSG HA 120), these are valuable rewetted high moor areas . They are large areas occupied by stocks from moor grass and heather and birch trees - pines -Moorwald. There are numerous regenerating peat cuttings in it . At the place of a moor lake, which was in the center of the area and has dried up in the meantime, there is now a flat still water of about 8 hectares . It was created when the water level rose again.
