The Wiedesee is a lake in the Lower Saxon municipality of Hoya in the joint municipality of Grafschaft Hoya in the district of Nienburg / Weser . The lake and its peripheral areas are under nature protection .

Nature reserve

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 076 is 26  hectares in size. It has been under nature protection since August 23, 1984. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Nienburg / Weser.

The nature reserve is located between Hoya and Hassel (Weser) south of the railway line between Eystrup and Syke . The nature reserve, which is completely surrounded by agricultural land, offers living space for partially threatened animal and plant species with its water bodies, reed beds and riverbank meadows . It is also a resting area for migrating waterfowl and also serves as a wintering area.

A raft was anchored on the lake by the Nienburger Kreisverband des Naturschutzbund Germany , which looks after the nature reserve, which serves as a breeding island for common terns .
