The Strada Statale 27 del Gran San Bernardo or Route nationale 27 du Grand-Saint-Bernard (French) is an Italian state road that was established in 1928 between Aosta and the Great Saint Bernard , where it is continued on Hauptstrasse 21 . It goes back to Strada nazionale 38, which was laid out on the same route in 1923 . Its length is 34 kilometers. The SS 27 was removed from the city center in Aosta and runs past the town through two tunnels to the north and east. Halfway to the pass, the T2 branches off to the Grosser St. Bernhard tunnel .
