Trento (wine)

The sparkling wines that are sold with the DOC designation Trento have had their “controlled designation of origin ” since 1993; this was last updated on March 7, 2014.

White and rose-colored sparkling wines are produced. These are made from the following grape varieties : Chardonnay and / or Pinot bianco and / or Pinot nero and / or Pinot Meunier . Certain proportions are not prescribed.

Growing area

Cultivation is authorized in the autonomous province of Trento in the following municipalities: Ala , Albiano , Aldeno , Arco , Avio , Besenello , Bleggio Inferiore, Bleggio Superiore , Brentonico , Caldonazzo , Calliano , Carzano , Castelnuovo , Cavedine , Cembra Lisignago , Cimone , Civezzano , Dorsino , Drena , Dro , Faedo , Altavalle , Garniga Terme , Giovo , Isera , Ivano-Fracena , Madruzzo , Lavis , Levico , Mezzocorona , Mezzolombardo , Mori , Nago-Torbole , Nave San Rocco , Nogaredo , Nomi , Novaledo , Ospedaletto , Padergnone , Pergine Valsugana , Pomarolo , Riva del Garda , Roncegno , Roverè della Luna , Rovereto , San Michele all'Adige , Scurelle , Segonzano , Spormaggiore , Stenico , Storo , Telve , Telve di Sopra , Tenna , Tenno , Terlago , Terragnolo , clay , Trambileno , Trento , Vallarsa , Vezzano , Altopiano della Vigolana , Castel Ivano , Villa Lagarina , Volano and Zambana .

In 2016, 76,103 hectoliters of DOC sparkling wine were produced from 1,012 hectares of vineyards.
